South O'Brien Elementary
The Primghar Site houses South O'Brien Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten and Grades K-6.
The South O'Brien Elementary Principal's Office has moved to the SE corner of the building (on N Hayes Avenue, across the street from the law office by the school and beside the Kindergarten rooms). This will be the temporary office until the new permanent location is complete sometime next year.
Visitors, please enter the door beside this temporary office location. ALL daytime visitors must report to the office and sign in when you enter the building. You will receive a visitor lanyard to wear. Please return the lanyard and sign out before you leave. This is a common safety policy at all schools.

We have students in South O’Brien Elementary with Peanut allergies.
We invite your help and cooperation to help them stay safe.
An allergic reaction can be life threatening.
The following practices have been put in place to help prevent allergic reactions:
All of South O’Brien Elementary has been designated as peanut allergy aware.
There will be no classroom projects with peanut butter, or anything that contains peanuts or tree nuts. Please do not send any of these projects into the classroom with your child.
Parents who send a lunch from home for their child are free to pack the foods of their choice. It is our hope that families CHOOSE not to send foods containing peanut butter or any nut product.
All students eating a lunch from home will be seated away from the students with the peanut allergy, and will be given a wipe to use on their hands and table area after eating lunch.
Please remind your child not to share their food or eating utensils with others.
We ask that all foods including snacks or special occasion treats entering the building at any time not contain nuts of any kind. A list of acceptable snacks/alternative items has been sent home with students.
All multi-ingredient snacks (crackers, cookies, cupcakes) sent to the classroom must be purchased with a content label that the teacher can read, or it will not be distributed to the students.
We look forward to working together with you to have a wonderful year at South O’Brien Elementary. If you have any questions regarding our allergy aware policy, please call us at 712-957-3755.
